I feel like there is so much pressure in our society to be a certain way. Social media is one thing, but the opinions of others can also cause added anxiety when it comes to our physical, mental, sexual and/or emotional health. It sometimes feels easier to suffer in silence than to reach out and risk any perceived judgement.
Pretending we are ok, when we are not ok, can be more taxing on our health than just asking for support.
There can be be a lot of misplaced shame associated with things like breastfeeding, postpartum struggles, raising kids, sex, mental health and life management. We all want to look and feel like we are doing it all well, when in fact falling a little short in some departments is so, completely, normal!
After sharing some thoughts and feelings in my newsletter this month I was overwhelmed by the support from the Epiphany community. It inspired me to write this blog and share some of the resources we have available on the directory.
The fact of the matter is that whatever you are going through, you are not alone and there are so many beautiful people that are genuinely interested in helping us navigate our battles no matter how scary it may be to reach out.
It might only be one person that finds comfort in this post, but for me, that's enough.
Let's talk about the "taboo".
With love,
