JUNI THE LABEL
Made Naturally. Made Slow. Made in the Garden Route of South Africa.
Juni the Label promotes slow fashion through producing small collections of timeless styles, made locally using natural fabrics.
At Juni the Label, natural fabrics are used to create small collections which are versatile & comfortable to wear. Production is kept close to home, within the Garden Route, and factory and seamstresses are visited regularly. They work with the most lovely women who are both skilled and passionate in what they do.
The Juni The Label vision is to create a brand which is as sustainable and ethical as possible and they continually work towards this. All the Juni The Label fabrics are sourced locally, and synthetic & plastic fibers are avoided where possible.
They aim to promote clever & conscious buying.
The goal is for Juni the Label to be a brand that you can wear, knowing that you are supporting not only their dream of ethically produced clothing, but also the dreams of all local seamstresses, pattern makers & small business owners that work with us.
They have recently partnered up with Mielie Mailer, a Cape Town based company who produces 100% compostable courier bags made from mielies or corn! This means that they can now offer plastic free shipping on all online orders.
WHY I LOVE THEM
I love the smaller selection of simple, basic styles created with ethical production in mind.
Much like my own style, Juni The Label designs are simple yet classic. 100% Cotton basics in simple plains and stripes are capsule wardrobe pieces that you can wear season after season, subsequently reducing your impact on the environment.
Fast fashion and shopping fading trends is a thing of the past. Quality over quantity is the name of the game, and we can no longer live ignorantly at the expense of people and our environment.
Forward thinking with comfort and style in mind is revolutionary, and deserves to be recognised.
THIS MONTHS CURATIONS
ON MY WISHLIST
Featuring the same "paper bag" waist as the Inka Pants, the Iris shorts are an easy pull-up style which can be worn with or without the cotton rope belt.
You can add your own style by tucking in a tee or wearing a crop and adding a leather buckled belt to these too! I would most likely size up on the Iris Shorts and opt for a slightly looser fit.
The waffle ivory fabric is enough to make anyone's heart flutter. These are the ultimate transition from loungewear to daily dressing.
Make it a set with the Jasmine Top in Ivory Waffle.

IN MY WARDROBE
Sister to the Iris Shorts (above), the Ivory Waffle Jasmine looks best paired with its partner in crime. This matchy look has angelic appeal in all its ivory glory.
If you want to change things up, the Jasmine looks just as wonderful with denim jeans or shorts or perhaps your favourite comfy joggers in stone.
Gold hoops, sneakers and retro shades complete the cool factor.
Cropped & wide fit
Balloon sleeve with elastic wrist
Straight hem, round neck
The Poppy Dress is an effortless, pull-on style with shoulder tie details & two side slits.
This Summer I fell in love with this style and I am smitten with my two Poppy Dresses in Dusty Pink and Avo.
Truth be told, I would quite happily own them all if it wasn't a little excessive.
They are so pretty and cool on a warm Durban day. Easy to wear, with a feminine factor thanks to their modest length and bows on the shoulders.
I guarantee a compliment or three when you adorn this pretty frock!
