AMY_FINAL-43.jpg

ABOUT

Amy Keevy was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and graduated with a B-tech in Fine Art at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2009. She lives and works in The Garden Route as a brand curator, photographer and artist. She has presented two solo shows and participated in several group exhibitions.

Amy’s most recent work––in undulating watercolour and ink on paper––primarily explores the female form and the phases of the moon and its effects on her. Using the warm tones of ochre, rust, and flesh, she embraces the unexpected changes wrought by wet ink on paper. Finely attuned to the cyclical elements of nature, the passage of time and her fluid feminine identity, Amy employs painting as a form of meditation and poetry. Her practice serves as an ongoing, ever-evolving exploration of self.

WHY I LOVE THEM

I first caught wind of Amy Keevy when a beautiful watercolour luna eclipse caught my eye on somebody's IG story. They had tagged this incredible artist and I had to know more.

Since then I have grown to know Amy as an expressionist who is not afraid to be herself. Her honest portrayal of her emotions makes her art easy to connect to, and her choice of colours and media leave you in a state of relaxation and deep thought.

For me, art is supposed to take you places. To memories, dreams or imaginary worlds. Amy personifies this in her inspiring selection of work.

LUNAR LIGHT

R490

LUNAR LOVING
square print

The original artwork was created with ink on Hahnemuhle Britannia 300g paper. Amy is releasing only 40 prints in archival ink on acid-free Felix Schoeller True Fibre 200gsm paper.

These limited editions are available in sizes A1, A2, A3, and A4, as well as square options.

All prints are hand-embossed, sold unframed and come with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity.

This artwork, depicting phases of the moon, is incredibly intricate and detailed. Amy's accuracy and attention to detail fascinates me!

I love the unique square print as apposed to the usual portrait shapes we are used to. A set of these are a perfect way to finish off the wall above your bed. It is sold unframed but I would frame it similarly how it is pictured here.

THE KIND HEART OF A FULL MOON

R2900

FOR THE DREAMER
original

The Kind Heart of a Full Moon is from Amy's brand new 'Lunar Light' collection.

"If there is one thing I know for certain, it’s that my love of the moon is shared far and wide, and these artworks have been a long time coming.

I hope you love them as much as I do, and that they bring joy into homes and heart throughout this universe we call home."

The original artwork - ink on Hahnemuhle Britannia 300g paper - is still available for sale. As well as a limited number of prints in various sizes.

I often find myself in awe of the moon. How magical is this rock, that orbits our planet? Amy certainly does justice to this special celestial body. I love to get lost in the changing tones and depths of her prints.
